Flashcom is 100% owned by Kenyan investors whose vision is to provide an opportunity for local talent to take part in the development of Kenya's telecommunications infrastructure.

In November 2006, Flashcom won the Best Local Loop Operator award at the 11th Annual Computer society of Kenya awards. Flashcom has been voted again for the second year running as the Best Local Loop Operator in 2007 during the 12th annual Computer Society of Kenya awards. This is a major achievement given that the telecommunications sector is dominated by large multinationals with foreign ownership and management.
